MY ZSL TEAM OF THE YEAR 1. Scott Ngokene ( Napsa Stars) The thoroughly entertaining keeper holds two records in the ZSL this year. He kept 3 consecutive cleansheets which is a record for the season and conceded only 11 goals in 24 matches. 2. Dominic Yobe ( Zanaco FC). Was cool and collected in most of the matches he played in, and Zanaco FC struggled when he didnt play including a 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Red Arrows in the last game of the season. 3. Boyd Mkhandawire ( Nkana FC) The best leftback this season, helped Napsa Stars both in attack and defence, it was either Boyd or Maybin Chishimba of Nkana FC who scored two crucial long ranage goals to bring Nkana back from losing positions. But Maybins erractic crossing cost him as Boyd is more composed in this area. 4. Nyambe Mulenga ( Power Dynamos/ Zesco United) Started of the season onloan at Power Dynamos but his performances got Zesco to call him back and he formed a partnership with Emmanuel Matthias which resulted in Zesco conceding not more than two goals when the two partnered in defence. 5. White Mwanababa ( Napsa Stars) Napsa Stars only conceded 21 goals in 30 games and Mwanababa was one of the reasons why. His brace against KMP in Week 8 helped Napsa to an impressive 2-0 win away. 6.Richard Kasonde ( Power Dynamos) By far the best defensive midfielder in 2014. Scored 10 goals which is the most any Defensive midfielder has scored in the league in over 10 years. His absence in certain crucial games led to Power Dynamos losing. 7. Saith Sakala ( Napsa Stars). For a debutant in the league his 7 goals for Napsa helped him emerge as the teams topscorer in a team that was strong defensively but struggled for goals upfront. 8. Rodrick Kabwe ( ZANACO FC) Had a strong start to the season but faded in the second half of the season. His 7 goals in the first 16 games of the season was impressive 9. Jackson Mwanza ( Zesco United) The topscorer in the league with 15 goals scoring it in 24 games. Mwanza was impressive throughout the season and was also impressive with a number of goos assists 10. Alex Ngonga ( Power Dynamos) The temparamental Ngonga was one of the most consistent players of the season, he fought for everyball at Power and his goal against Napsa Stars in Week 12 is one of the contenders for goals of the season. Ngonga also scored the fastest hatrick of the season when he scored 3 goals within 11 minutes against Roan United in Week 22. 11. Kennedy Mudenda ( Power Dynamos) Mudenda scored 6 goals this season and was one of the leagues most consistent performers.
