Macon County Weather Briefing for Friday, June 27, 2014 This weekend is forecast to be wet weather days, with periods of rain possible today through early Sunday. The semi-permanent summertime Bermuda high will reassert its domination of our weather pattern early next week, lasting through at least the rest of the week with afternoon and evening thundershowers. TODAY Patchy fog and scattered showers in the morning. Cloudy with highs in the upper 70s and light winds from the north before noon, then calming for the afternoon. 70% chance of rain, with amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. HAZARDS Low pressure off the Atlantic coast is feeding moisture into the region and numerous rain showers are expected to develop. Some storms may become stationary and flooding may result where this occurs. TONIGHT Mostly cloudy with lows in the mid 60s with light and variable winds and patchy fog. 70% chance of rain. Rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. SATURDAY Patchy fog in the morning. Mostly cloudy with highs in the upper 70s and light winds out of the southwest. 70% chance of rain, with amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
