Magnolia Miracles Festival Guide 2014: With Festy season JUST around the corner, we wanted to bring you a few pointers to help you have a Magical Music Festival Experience!! Hope this helps! 1. Make sure you have saved up enough money to enjoy the festival. And also have a little money saved/hidden in case of emergencies throughout the weekend. And DON’T FORGET YOUR TICKETS! 2. If you are driving, make SURE your car is tuned up and ready to make the long haul. 3. As we have seen from last summer…RAIN loves music festivals. So make sure you are prepared…water proof tent, tarp to lie under your tent, rain boots, water proof jacket and extra dry clothes. Grab a bar of soap and dance it the rain!!! Nature’s Showers!! 4. SLEEP!! I know it’s exciting and you want to rage..but getting rest throughout the weekend will ultimately help you have a more pleasant experience. 5. HYDRATE!!! This is by FAR the most important safety tip for a happy weekend. Even IF you aren’t thirsty..DRINK WATER…and NO, beer doesn’t count…haha…being outdoors, in the sun, dancing and walking..your body needs water..so please drink twice as much water as you would normally. 6. Wear comfortable shoes..there is nothing worse than having sore feet the first night of a festival..also bring an extra pair in case you either fall asleep with your shoes on and they get snagged, haha, you lose them in the crowd or they start to become uncomfortable. (flip flops aren’t a good idea in case of rain) 7. Make a plan with your friends in case you get lost or wander off…have a home base to meet after each show (your campsite, a certain vendor, or food vendor, etc) areas get crowded so saying “Soundboard” or “Schools Zone” tend to not be as effective..also this is a great idea in case your phone dies. 8. PLEASE do not go HAM the first night nor take anything from a stranger. We at Mag Miracle do not promote drug use..…but it is obvious some festival goers will partake..so PLEASE be careful…pace yourself…and DON’T TAKE ANYTHING FROM STRANGERS (thank your 3rd teacher for those words of wisdom) 9. If you start to feel bad..please remove yourself from the hot, humid crowd and take a moment to yourself. Walk around, breathe, drink some water, sit down. The music will still be going on and YOU will feel 100% better. 10. Know where FIRST AID tents are located. We hope no one will ever have to visit First Aid, but if something happens, its better to know where they are located..better safe than sorry. 11. Respect those around you!! We are ALL, (each and every one festival goer) is there to have a magical weekend…so be respectful to those around you…you will find this type of attitude is definitely contagious…so spread it around… 12. Speaking of respect, RESPECT THE LAND…..we are extremely lucky venue owners allow us to use their land to have a magical weekend…so please, “Keep The Scene Clean”…keep your campsite clean, recycle and pick up after yourself…If you see a beer can on the ground, it only takes a moment to pick it up and throw it away..and this too, is contagious..your mom isn’t here to clean up after you….so Keep It Clean. 13. Be open minded…a festival is there to open your ears and mind to new music along with enjoying your favorites…if there is someone on the bill you haven’t seen..go see them..support the music…you never know..they COULD blow your mind… 14. Make a “Festy Supplies” list and make SURE you bring enough little things such as: toilet paper (you KNOW most festies run out of TP the first day), sunscreen, sun glasses, medicine, FRESHIES, batteries, tarps, camp chairs, ICE (or dry ice to keep food cold) smokes & BOOZE!!! 15. Be respect to staff, crew and security…they work hard to bring you an unforgettable weekend..working many months and being away from home to make SURE you have a great experience…if you get a chance….smile & tell them THANK YOU when you pass by a crew or staff member….it will definitely make their day!!! 16. Last but certainly NOT least…don’t forget to bring a smile…remember:: NO WORK, NO SCHOOL and all your best friends dancing to music for 3 days…live while you are young and embrace your surroundings….because ultimately that’s all we have folks, MEMORIES...laughs..inside jokes!
