Maidan Community Sector, Lviv: Dear friends! By annexing Crimea, Russia has carried out an act of aggression against Ukraine. Currently Russia is transferring terrorist and sabotage groups to Eastern Ukraine. . Everyday life in Eastern Ukraine has turned into a continuous nightmare in the middle of Europe. Our country is being destroyed right before our eyes. We therefore take the courage to inform you about current events in Ukraine. This is just another point of view. We will do our best to remain objective. For immediate release of the Ukrainian citizen Nadezhda Savchenko Author: Roman Baiduk, Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine Russian authorities are holding in a detention center in Voronezh, Russia a member of the Ukrainian military Nadezhda (Nadia) Savchenko, in violation of all accepted norms of international law and agreements between Russia and Ukraine. Ms Savchenko was captured by the militia of the so called Donetsk Peoples Republic that is not recognized by a single country in the world, including Russia. Russia and Ukraine are not officially at war, the agreements between those countries are in force. Nadezhda is absurdly accused of murder of Russian journalists, a court hearing is being prepared. Because of that, following questions arise: 1. How could armed thugs transport a captured citizen of Ukraine through the Russian border? How could Russian border guards and customs officers allow that, provided that it happened at a border crossing? 2. How could those thugs give to the Russian police a captured citizen of a foreign country? Why were the captors from the unrecognized Donetsk Republic detained? Why wasnt their victim transferred to a diplomatic representative of Ukraine in Russia? 3. What are the reasons for holding a captured and illegally smuggled citizen of Ukraine in a detention center in Russia? How can a Russian court consider that case? We demand immediate release of Ukrainian citizen Nadezhda Savchenko and her return to her homeland. We demand from the Russian government explanation, official apology and guarantee that such lawless acts would not be repeated. We demand prosecution for those connected to this crime, especially Russian officials. Failure to do so would demonstrate that Russia not only a supporter of international terrorism, but also a direct participant. translation by Pavel Roskin MA Russia Bolsters Crimean Air Defense, E.
