Maiduguri Volunteer Youths Protest, Kick Against Boko Haram Ceasefire Offer Posted by: daniel on July 11, 2013 The announcement of a ceasefire by the terrorist group, Boko Haram, has been greeted with condemnation by thousands of youths from Maiduguri, the Borno State capital and environs as they gathered yesterday morning at Ramat square in the metropolis to reject the offer by the sect. Chanting “No amnesty, no reconciliation and no dialogue”, the youths marched to the Shehu of Borno’s Palace showing their total rejection and disregard to the purported ceasefire declared by Boko Haram early this week. It was learnt that the leaders of volunteer youths, popularly called ‘Civilian JTF’, who have achieved modest success in hunting suspected Boko Haram members for more than a month now, mobilized and invited all their members across the Maiduguri metropolitan council (MMC) in order to take a collective decision and issue a response to the declaration of a ceasefire by a purported deputy leader of the sect, Imam Muhammad Marwana, who spoke to the Hausa service of Voice of America (VOA) monitored in Abuja on Sunday. “No; we don’t need or like Boko Haram ceasefire offer, we don’t accept it, we have rejected the offer in totality; we disregard their ceasefire and we would continue hunting Boko Haram sect members who caused us to suffer most in Borno state,” a leader of a youths group from Gwange II said.
