Makayla Sault, an 11-year-old Ojibwe girl from Canada, died a few - TopicsExpress

Makayla Sault, an 11-year-old Ojibwe girl from Canada, died a few days ago after alternative treatment for her leukemia failed her. Now another pre-teen First Nations girl is very likely going to have a similar fate, for the same reason. Despite the court challenge where her family stated she wanted to use indigenous treatments instead of chemotherapy, there is really nothing indigenous about: * cold-laser therapy * Vitamin C injections * Aqua Chi Ionic Footbaths * BioEnergy Field Intervention and * The Power of The Mind in Getting Well Program™.” From the article: A Florida health resort licensed as a “massage establishment” is treating a young Ontario First Nations girl with leukemia using cold laser therapy, Vitamin C injections and a strict raw food diet, among other therapies...According to the Florida State Health Authority, Hippocrates Health Institute is a licensed massage establishment. It says Brian Clement is not a licensed doctor or naturopath. This kind of dangerous misinformation is exactly why we reality-based massage therapists need to distance ourselves from so-called alternative healers and false claims about energy medicine. We have a great deal of value to offer. Let us separate ourselves from these kinds of grifters and snake-oil salesmen. Clients need to be encouraged to ask themselves does it make sense that Im being pushed into buying cancer treatment at a massage establishment for $18,000?, and supported in pushing back against that kind of tactic. Red flags for clients to always be aware of: * massage establishments offering medical treatment; * clinicians who lie about the credentials they possess; * credentials earned through diploma mills; * anyone who claims that leukemia is “not difficult to treat”, and * absolute guarantees, sight unseen. “He had the tone of voice where he was so confident,” [the girls mother] says. “By him saying, ‘Oh yes no problem we can help her,’ thats the day I stopped the chemo.” cbc.ca/news/aboriginal/doctor-treating-first-nations-girls-says-cancer-patients-can-heal-themselves-1.2832760
