The next step is to be sure that acting is your talent. Once you have established that as a certainty, you have three basic and defining needs- FOCUS, DETERMINATION AND DISCIPLINE. When you have these three at play, it will be difficult to be distracted. You also need to train yourself. Being talented is not enough. If you don’t submit yourself to any form of training, you will not develop. When I say training, I don’t mean that you need to get a formal education o! If you have that, that is great, but another very helpful way to go is to join an association or a club, where you will have group activities that will allow you to learn from others, make mistakes and find correction and also develop the necessary thick skin for the industry. Also a good mentor will help in this regard. Then never forget that you must rehearse. Run your lines…read scripts…practise. Make attempts at different interpretations; don’t get comfortable so you don’t become stuck with only one form of delivery. Practise…push and yes! Practise some more!"
