Making some changes at Roosevelt! We are getting a Good Samaritan protocol on campus!!! Finally received this great e-mail today! "Hi Vilmarie, Thanks so much for your message. Implementation of a practice such as the Good Samaritan Protocol is taken seriously and requires a lot of coordination, discussion, and research - much of which you presented to us! Many parties have needed to be involved in these discussions, and we have talked through not only the protocol as presented, but more recently the actual practice; this is where our discussions have taken more time and energy. After careful and detailed consideration, I am happy to say we will be adopting the Good Samaritan Protocol and it will be in place for this coming academic year. I will continue to work with Bridget to help train RAs, and will be in touch with Maureen to inform Campus Safety of our practice. The Protocol will be available on the Student Services website as well as Residence Life, and we will have all the information up before the start of classes. This is an important step for our institution to take as we are living out our values through this practice. I want to thank you and Grace for all your dedication because you really made this happen.
