Making things - art, food, laughs, gardens, hugs, friends - is in my DNA. For the past year Ive also been getting acquainted with other deep truths I feel in my bones and, friends, its totally turned everything I thought I believed on its head in all the best ways. Heres what Ive come to know with certainty: --> we are not supposed to suffer with the journey of meeting our physical needs. Its not inherently part of the divine path to victory. Suffering comes when we hold limiting beliefs as if they are golden gods of absolute truth. Even when they create limited experiences. Suffering does not make us grow as some might believe. Learning where the suffering is unnecessary and who we are on the other side of hat is where the growth is. And worst of all, when we convince ourselves that those limiting beliefs are Truth (capitol T) are required, essential, and just how it is. --> The American Dream is rooted in the desire for all of us to experience liberty and freedom in ALL ways - religious, vocationally, financially, etc. The dream, however, has been hijacked by a system that says you can only do so well in this day and age (legally) and you might not even be smart enough to handle THAT properly so make sure you give all your faith and money to institutions and schemes that sell you air that you hope will be there when youre old and need to breathe it...meanwhile breathing shallow until that promised day of retirement and glorious wealth. (Cough cough). What are considered the best investments + wealth generating machines by the status quo (IRAs, 401ks etc.) are okay vehicles of financial freedom later in life. But just okay. They are still quite low performing and surprisingly high risk when you stop listening to the news and pull out a calculator. Its just math. This dream, the American Dream, is yours for the creating however you want it to look the instant you decide to shine the light of inquiry into that which you have been told are the smart and best ways to create a truly financially free and abundant future and then choose to step up and DO something about it. --> I was born to serve and bless with whatever talents Ive been given. I cant do that as well as I am capable of if Im so preoccupied with making ends meet that I cant take the time to look outside my own concerns of living. To be direct, when there is lots of money in the bank/assets/generating residual income, my mind is free to see and take in and ACT ON all the opportunities to serve that are around me every day. When my mind is free from the hamster wheel of just keeping the account balance up enough, i see the error in thinking that enough is always just a little bit more. When I see the error of that thinking, the doors are blown off of the house of status quo and possibility pours in like a flood. The pie gets bigger for everyone the more good I allow into my own life. --> for me to be of the highest and best service to those around me, I MUST keep my soul light. Light as in not weighed down. Light enough to be able to pay attention to how I can help. Light enough to be able to offer solutions to those who are looking (who may be in their own way). Light by way of knowing, without a shadow of a doubt, that the making of things that is in my DNA is coming from a place of offering, play, and exploration and does not have the added requirement of paying the bills (which theyll do automatically by way of not requiring them to because art is fickle...she doesnt like demands made of her but shell give you more than you can fit in your pocket if shes free to just be.) I could pontificate for days. I have some good friends in this video and it makes my heart dance with buckets of happy when hearing the good they are doing in the world. What the last two guys say...man, what amazing visions for how they want to be in the world! I salute you Hub Hive and am doing my part to rock the free world from here in Oregon! My why is micro and macro and includes building an art/music/living based school where the focus is on helping youth identify and makes choices according to how they want to FEEL in life (purposeful, passionate, connected, useful...) and how they can be of service to they world. Animal husbandry, gardening, mindset expansion, and personal inquiry would be included in the curriculum and the education would be provided more through relational mentorship + hands on experience and less through desk work + traditional classroom teaching. My why is much bigger than me and Im doing all I can to rise to the call to inhabit it.
