Malacanang suspends release of DAP OCTOBER 1, 2013 12:00 AM No more Pork…No more DAP It’s not only the Pork Barrel which is getting scrap from the proposed 2014 National budget, but the Malacanang is also suspending the release of Disbursement Acceleration Program, amounting to billions of pesos. This was clarified by Presidential Spokesman Sec. Edwin Lacierda after former Senator Joker Arroyo accused the Palace of giving away more than One Billion peso fund for 20 Senators to vote for a conviction against ouster Supreme Court Chief Justice Renato Corona in 2012. According to Lacierda, Budget Sec. Butch Abad stated that they will suspend the release of the Disbursement Acceleration Program of lawmakers amid the order of President Benigno Aquino III to stop the release of the remaining Pork Barrel funds this year. It was Senator Arroyo who allegedly requested, and even wrote to Senate President Franklin Drilon, who was the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance to fund his priority projects, including the hospital he’s building in Camarines Sur. Prior to this, Arroyo also accused Sec.
