Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa said that government work will be suspended starting 12 p.m on Friday. Ochoa noted that government agencies which are responsible for the “delivery of basic and health services, preparedness/response to disasters and calamities, and/or the performance of other vital public services” will continue rendering their services on Friday. The Palace earlier announced that October 31, 2014, will not be a special holiday. Millions of Filipinos working in the cities like Metro Manila troop to the provinces to pay respect to their dearly departed.
