Malawi Housing Corporation (MHC) officials have admitted failure to meeting the housing demands in the major cities and towns. This has been attributed to urbanization, where many people are flocking to town and cities in search of employment and business opportunities. Most of them look for houses from both MHC and private owners. The parastatal is failing to provide houses to many applicants some of whom have been on the waiting list for decades. MHC public relations officer, Enestina Yobe told Capital FM that the corporation is currently mobilizing financial resources for the construction of more houses.
