Malawians will not use the national registration identity cards in next year’s general elections since the registration process is still underway. The national identity cards are expected to help the government in planning for development and identify citizens to cast their vote. It follows reports that some foreigners pose to be the country’s citizens and transact illegal business locally and internationally. Speaking to Capital fm, principal secretary responsible for the national registration bureau in the OPC Francis Chinsinga says the exercise is facing financial challenges.
