Malcolm X once said that. "culture is weapon in the face of our enemy." The word Hotep is the ancient Kemetic (Egyptian) word for peace! It is the oldest word for peace in human history! At Weequahic HS in Newark, NJ, where I teach history, I greet all my students everyday with the word Hotep! It has sparked the Hotep movement! I have been a teacher at Weequahic in for over 10 years, and now the entire high school says Hotep all day everyday! If u want to start the Hotep movement at ur school, please begin by simply saying the word-Hotep to all ur students!
