Male called the police because a convenience store employee - TopicsExpress

Male called the police because a convenience store employee refused him the right to use their restroom facilities and he wanted to know if this was legal. He flexed his knowledge of the law and pointed out that dining establishments were required to provide restrooms for their patrons. The officer provided the male with clues that would help him later differentiate between a convenience store and a dining establishment. 911 call where a female stated she needed help and then hung up. Officers responded as Dispatch re-established communication. Female told them that she and her roommate were frightened by what they thought was a burglar trying to break into their apartment. Females conducted their own investigation and determined that a “cat”-burglar had, indeed, tried to break in but was unsuccessful. This is most likely due to the absence of opposing thumbs. Following a long night of nacho building and customer service, a tired Taco Bell employee was saddened to learn he had locked himself out of his vehicle. An officer promptly responded to the scene and saved the day with a Slim Jim. (A Slim Jim is a tool used to unlock a vehicle. Not to be confused with a stick of processed meat.) Female reported a suspicious male at Wal-Mart. She thought he was an employee who was lurking around the electronics department staring at customers. Male made odd comments to the female and then dashed off to “clock out”, however, store manager said they did not have any employees matching this description. Officers checked the store but did not locate the male. Burglary – Male reported that sometime during this day an unknown suspect(s) entered his unlocked vehicle and took his prescription medication. The male suspects this happened while he was shopping at Super 1 Foods. Noise Complaint – Female reports a neighbor parks his semi truck on the street next to her residence and allows it to run. The noise from the Semi Truck is disturbing and she does not appreciate the odor of the exhaust which fills her house. After the Officer advised her of her options she decided that she would try talking to the truck owner and attempt to work this out in a neighborly fashion. Citizen Assist – Elderly female loaned her cell phone to a neighbor who wanted to use it to locate his recently lost cell phone. After more than an hour went by the female requested an Officer help her get the phone back. Officer knocked on the neighbor’s door and noticed that he must have been diligently looking for this phone as he came crawling out from underneath a large pile of mattresses and other household furnishings. The possibly intoxicated male said that he could hear the female’s phone ringing but could not locate it. Officer requested Dispatch call the female’s phone and heard it ringing. Officer glanced down and located the phone on the floor next to the front door. The phone was returned to its rightful owner. Officers noticed suspicious activity at a residence where they were also attempting to locate a wanted subject. An officer contacted the occupants of a vehicle in front of the residence and learned the male inside the vehicle was on felony probation and, in accordance with his probation status, conducted a search of him and his lunge area. Drug paraphernalia was located inside the vehicle. A subsequent K-9 search was conducted by KCSO, and marijuana and methamphetamine and were located. The male and female were arrested and their infant child was placed into state custody. (JO for BS)
