Malvani, the Sea People The sea people as they are called for their dependency on the big body of water are the truly oceanic species of mankind. Their catatonic frenzy for the fish is incomparable! On this day of sunday I went to purchase fish in the local market to learn about this species and their fishy behaviour. There was a parade of sea people by the fish ladies having a glance at the latest arrivals of the sea-kind and their worth. I accompanied by one of my distant grandmother; for me who is an expert at the art of fish purchasing tried to get through the parade to have a glimpse at these star appearances on the wooden planks. Lucky we were to have a look at the lifeless, silver skinned, time freezed and water drenched pieces of soft meat lying on their wooden and waterlogged death beds waiting for a worthy buyer to consume them. There were the little kind and tiny ones. And big ones with flat one. The octapedal to multi tentacled and who knows what geometrical shapes. What amused me most the sea peoples relentless and sagely concentration on the sea kind trying to analyse the fishs freshness and its minimum selling price. He touched the fish at every possible place with his index finger piercing in to establish the scientific parameters to arrive at its worth. My grandmother selected two species; one for curry and other for frying. The bargain was an easy going, a kind of habitual process and she finally landed for a fair price for the sea-kind. While leaving off the place I could still see the sea people bidding for the leftovers. I murmered to myself Oh, these sea people! I believe that this human species cannot have its ancestry to apes as put forth for Charles Darwin. As an exception they would have evolved from some sea predators or cat family. Their passion for sea food is incomparable! For their generations have harvested the ocean for the piscine treasure. The sea people are truly the conqueror of the ocean devouring it through their facial orfices yet escaping the curse of sea kind through their natural sanctity and intellect.
