Mama update. Its been a little less than 48 hours after surgery. Today has been a quiet and restful day for mama. Therapy visited and had her sit up and dangle off the bed. They had to do all the work. Maybe a workout more for them. The activity wore her out. Another Catscan showed no signs of bleeding so the drain from her brain was taken out. Her turban like bandage was removed revealing a pretty big scar. Mama has not eaten, but a tube was placed in her nose for liquid food. Spoke to several relatives today and inspite of the difficult circumstance it was heart-warming to hear their voices. Great lunch with my sister Debi talking about life and whats next. Tomorrow mom could move from ICU to PCU (a few rooms down the hall). I have such a renewed appreciation for doctors, nurses and those who work in the health care field. Amazing people. Several of them have told me they will take care of my mom just like she was their mom. This event is truly life changing in so many ways. Mama is sleeping. I am here...sitting, watching, grateful.
