Man Arrested after Robbing Female Victim at Union Station On Monday, July 28, 2014 at approximately 2:00 AM Worcester Police responded to the back of Union Station for a report of an unarmed robbery. A female victim told police that two males approached her and then stole her backpack. One of the males was riding a bicycle. The men fled toward Temple Street. There were witnesses in the area that also assisted with the investigation. Officers were able to gather a detailed description of one of the suspects. Officers located one of the suspects on Temple Street. The suspect was identified as 45-year-old Eugene Jones of Worcester. Witnesses confirmed that Mr. Jones was the suspect who stole the backpack. Officers discovered that Mr. Jones was in possession of a pocketbook and credit cards/debit cards with another female’s name on them along with medication that was prescribed to another person. The second suspect was not located. There is limited information about the description of this suspect. Eugene Jones, 45, of 25 Queen Street, Worcester, was charged with Unarmed Robbery, Trespassing, and Receiving Stolen Property over $250, and Possession of Class E Substance. The investigation is ongoing.
