Man Burnt to Death in Lusaka A 40-year-old man of Chibolya compound in Lusaka has been burnt to death in an inferno after the house he was sleeping in caught fire. The deceased identified as Ian Chilando died yesterday around 01:05 hours. Zambia Police Deputy Public Relations Officer Rae Hamoonga said Misheck Daka, the brother to the deceased, reported that the house caught fire whilst his brother was asleep. Hamoonga said the body of the deceased is lying in the University Teaching Hospital mortuary awaiting burial. Meanwhile, the Zambia Police has advised members of the public to be security conscious and abide by the laws that govern the country during the forthcoming Easter holiday. And the Zambia Police has urged those wishing to hold parties to report to any nearest police station and inform them about their activities. Hamoonga said police have already deployed enough officers to maintain law and order countrywide to members of the public so that they celebrate their Easter holiday in a peaceful manner. He has warned those who will want to take advantage of the holiday by breaking the law will be brought to book and made to account for their actions in the courts of law. Hamoonga further said that police will mount road snap checks and patrols both foot and motorized, in order to control and monitor the flow of traffic as a means of curbing road traffic accidents during this period. zambiareports/2014/04/18/man-burnt-death-lusaka/
