Man ... WTF is wrong with me. Lately, the weirdest things have emotionally affected me in ways I never saw coming. I find myself watching Derek Jeter head into retirement with a lump in my throat & a tear in my eye. How can this be? Im a Red Sox fan ... I hate the Yankees!! Something inside me, and you can call it getting soft, getting older, more mature ... blah, blah, blah ... call it what you want ... something inside me realizes that as we watch these seasons unfold & Hall of Fame careers end, we realize our day is coming too. Maybe its that realization that we are getting older that brings on that combination of angst & denial. I dont know, I cant explain it. All that I do know is that Im going to miss rooting against Jeter. Im going to miss booing him in a stinkin, friggin Yankee uniform, but Im always going to give thanks that as baseball fan, I was able to lay witness to his greatness. Thank you for the memories Derek Jeter. #RE2PECT
