Man arrested following death of woman in Auburn Police investigating the death of a 26-year-old woman in Auburn earlier today have arrested a man in Sydney’s west. Shortly before 7pm today (Saturday 17 January 2015), police arrested a 33-year-old man at a property on James Street in Guildford West. The man has been taken to Auburn Police Station where he is assisting police with their inquiries into the death of 26-year-old Leila Alavi. The body of Ms Alavi was found in her car – which was parked in an underground carpark in Auburn – shortly before 10am today. Initial examinations suggest Ms Alavi had suffered a stab wound, however the crime scene is still being processed. Local police, with the assistance of detectives from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, are continuing their inquiries into the incident.
