Man charged with 22 offences following alleged armed incidents near Mudgee Police have charged a man over numerous traffic and assault offences after a number of alleged incidents near Mudgee yesterday. About 3.45pm Wednesday, a 25-year-old man visited family members on Mayne Street, Gulgong, approximately 30km north of Mudgee, where he allegedly spat on them and threatened them. He then proceeded to a corner store on the same street and allegedly assaulted a man. About 4pm, the man drove to a home in Herbert Street, where he allegedly threatened the occupants of the home and damaged a car parked outside the home. The man then drove to a hotel on Mayne Street, allegedly damaging a car parked outside. About 4.30pm, the man and a family member went to a home on Black Lead Lane, allegedly armed with a machete and threatened the man at the home, followed by threatening a woman and her daughter over the phone. During the incidents, police were called. About 6.10pm, police arrested the man nearby and he was taken to Mudgee Police Station. He was charged with 22 offences, including intimidation, assault, malicious damage, traffic offences, assault/resist police, intimidate police, street offences and possess dangerous implement. He was refused bail, to attend Mudgee Local Court today Thursday.
