Man docked for criminal breach of trust, cheating The police on Wednesday arraigned Victorious Chukwuemeka of Suite 43D, Anon plaza, Gudu, Abuja, in a Gudu Upper Area Court, FCT, for criminal breach of trust and cheating. The prosecutor, Cpl. Isreal Nongo, told the court that Mr Uda Okechukwu of No. 37, Federal Housing Estate, Lugbe, Abuja, reported the matter at the Apo police station on Aug. 1. He said the complainant gave the accused N500,000 to purchase a plot of land at Lugbe sometime in May 2012. The prosecutor said the accused, however, converted the said amount to his personal use and fled to an unknown destination. He said the offence contravened the provisions of sections 312 and 322 of the penal code. The accused, however, denied the charges. The presiding officer, Alhaji Umar Kagarko, granted the accused bail in the sum of N550,000 with a reliable surety, who must reside within the jurisdiction of the court. He adjourned the case until Sept. 2, for hearing
