Man injured in unit fire - Queanbeyan A man has sustained serious injuries following a fire at a unit complex in the state’s south today. About 6pm today (Friday 8 August 2014), emergency services were called to a unit complex on Thurralilly Street, Queanbeyan, after reports of a fire. Upon arrival, police and Fire and Rescue NSW officers found the building well alight. A 23-year-old man was taken in a serious condition to Canberra Hospital with burns to his arms, hands, legs, and back. Other occupants of the complex had self-evacuated prior to police arrival and did not require medical treatment. One of the units was completely destroyed by the fire and a crime scene was established to investigate the cause. Investigators do not believe the fire was suspicious.
