Man, what a letdown of a game. I was really anticipating a fight. Not a one-sided one either. Seattle came out and punched them in the teeth for 60 straight minutes. Broncos were nervous and timid. That first snap pretty much said it all. Never recovered from that. Manning actually played fairly well, but theres ten other guys on the field that simply did not. Their defense had to defend a short field all game, and kept getting sent back out unexpectedly. Those crossing routes should have been abandoned after the second or third time a Denver receiver got capped right after he caught it. They were peeling off of deep routes to wait for those receivers coming across, and had shoulder pad in their chest immediately. Manning has a history of getting antsy. Phantom pressure was in his head. He was unloading too quickly, and may have been more successful had he waited another half second and maybe had a tight end start running out routes or seam routes once he saw the linebackers jumping the crossing routes. But thats what happens when you play a defense like that. Theyre gonna hit you, each other, the refs, they dont care. They will force you to make decisions that they want you to make. Seattle came to play, and Denver came to see if Manning could win a Super Bowl for them. To all my friends that are true Seahawks fans, Im happy to see your team finally win one after so many years of seeing you cheer for them. Both of my brothers are Broncos fans, so obviously, I would have rather seen them win for that and other reasons, but they didnt deserve it today. I really hope Sherman doesnt have lingering injuries with that leg. You dont want to ever see injuries to anyone. I hope Bowman and Sherman are both perfectly ok for their first game come September, because I want to see some bloody noses and a revenge game with both teams healthy. Just not so much noise this time, alright guy?
