Man, whats up with this town?? I just saw the most heart breaking thing ever, an old woman was trying to make her way down the road, the sidewalks uncleared and icy, so she was forced to walk on the road. Vehicles keep on speeding by, and one hit the horn in such a way as to say get off the road. Now i understand a lot of people are heartless assholes but the situation down town every year is the same. The town clears the road, but not the sidewalks. Does this make sense?? in any normal society the pedestrian safety takes paramount importance to the person driving a 1 ton suit of armor. But what do we see in Port aux Basques every winter, the elderly and children forced to walk on roads in storms and icey weather. Eventually someone is gonna be killed, its just a matter of time. Its time for people around to start paying more attention to the important issues. I am sick to death of seeing people geting up in arms over the well being of cats and the issue of what DJ is cutting whatever other DJs throat. This is the world we live in, where noone gives a crap about the neighbours, but spends their time worried about non important issues. Now i understand people saying, well i couldnt plough it cause there was a car i the way . To this i say call the cops, tow them, fine them. The sidewalk is not a parking place, its the responsibility of the landlord to provide a parking place for their customers or renters. But the town in its wisdom paints parking places directly next to the sidewalk, giving those people causing the problems an excuse to park there. Its rediculous , the way people drive around here is just beyond reckless and we have elderly and children forced to walk on the road, people park where they want and the cops are only concerned with finding out whos selling pot. I doubt anyone willl read this rant, and normally i wouldnt make it, but things need to change here, or before long one of you will be burrying a loved one due to sidewalk conditions.
