Managed to fit in a couple of rides either side of the enjoyable French Foray. On the morning before departure had a nice pedal with Tim over to Salway Ash, nice blue skies but cool wind, Tim was going well, he manged to get a few bike lengths on me on the challenging climbs. The hard bits were climbing up from the Marshwood Vale up to Marshwood and the climb up past the the Fern Hill Hotel (out of Charmouth towards Lyme Regis). Following the relaxing French Foray (no sea sickness - hurrah!) I rode home from the Monkey Jump end of Dorchester, route took me past the Hardy Monument down to Burton Bradstock, Bridport, Eype, North Chideock, Morecombelake, Charmouth and Lyme Regis. It would have been a great ride but there was a corking chilly headwind all the way home. I saw load of other cyclists going the other direction who looked much happier than me ! I tagged along with 3 Sid Valley chaps for one of their race training rides on Tuesday evening. Pretty brisk apart from stopping to fix a flat, route the same as last week, out to Honiton Golf Club then over to Fairmile and Ottery. Young Toby was the star of the final climb out of Tipton and managed to drop the rest of us oldies. Before the ride I was asking him if hed done much riding recently which he replied he had but on a horse ! Apparently he prefers the bike to the horse given the choice.
