Manchester City have been dubbed favourites in the race to sign Malaga’s £30m rated playmaker Isco, reports The Telegraph. City face competition from Real Madrid for the Spanish midfielder though it is believed that Isco prefers a move to Manchester. First Team Football Isco has repeatedly emphasised that he will only move away from Malaga if it is to a team where he is guaranteed first team football. And the 21-year-old believes that City will offer him a better chance of regular first team appearances. Isco looks set to choose Manchester City and follow the boss who game him his opportunity to flourish at Malaga, Manuel Pellegrini. “It is true that I know Pellegrini already,” The Telegraph reports that Isco said. Fundamental Role “I know how he works and he has been fundamental in my career during the two years that I have been at Malaga with him. “I know that Manchester City and Real Madrid are two great clubs. I want what is best for me and for Malaga.” Isco’s main rival for a Los Blancos starting position would be German playmaker Mesut Ozil who has become a leading star for the club over his time at Madrid and is unlikely to be dropped to facilitate the inclusion of Isco. With the imminent announcement that Carlos Ancelotti will take the reigns of the La Liga side, Kaka may even become next in line for Isco’s position as the Brazilian may be offered a final chance to reclaim the form that he achieved under the Italian at AC Milan.
