Manchester United and Arsenal target Sami Khedira is “uncomfortable” at Real Madrid, according to a report in the Spanish press. The Spanish capital club are currently in third place in La Liga five points behind bitter rivals Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. The German international has hit out at his club by claiming he does not receive fair treatment as he was not signed for a large transfer fee and is not a Spaniard. He told kicker: Im not a Spanish player, I did not cost much money and Im one of [Jose] Mourinhos disciples. I started the season on the bench or in the stands. Although if I play well, I am the scapegoat and will therefore not be properly assessed. He was also quoted in Marca as saying: “Sometimes there are exceptions, but, overall, we play too complicatedly; everyone for himself. I do not know whether or not all of this is temporary, but we are not yet displaying team play.” Marca has now claimed the 26-year-old no longer feels indispensable under new coach Carlo Ancelotti after being one of the most important players under former Real coach Mourinho, who is now in charge of Chelsea. The German has also been saddened by the departure of compatriot Mesut Ozil, who joined Arsenal on the final day of the summer transfer window. Gunners manager Arsene Wenger has been heavily linked with a move for Khedira whilst Manchester United boss David Moyes made a last-minute bid for the player on transfer deadline day and is understood to still be looking to bring the midfielder to Old Trafford.
