The Spanish stopper has been, arguably, the Red Devils top performer this season, with his heroic showing between the sticks enough to outshine captain Wayne Rooney and summer record buy, Angel di Maria. His showings have alerted Real, who see the 24-year-old as the ideal long-term replacement for Iker Casillas, whose form his nosedived over the past couple of years.
