Manchester United’s lack of activity this summer has caused some concern amongst fans, despite the transfer window not being open. With other teams starting their business early, United fans have seen a number of reported targets linked with other clubs or reject moves to Old Trafford, further causing anxiety. With moves for Toni Kroos amongst others seemingly hitting a wall and a number of players linked to the club apparently at the behest of new manager Louis Van Gaal, The Daily Mail have revealed that Van Gaal has approached Ed Woodward with a 3 man hit list of Bayern Munich duo Thomas Muller and Bastian Schweinsteiger and Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels. The paper claim that Van Gaal expects a deal for Shaw to be wrapped up soon but wants Woodward to get to work on secure all 3 Bundesliga stars despite the obvious obstacles: Louis van Gaal wants Manchester United executive chairman Ed Woodward to sign German stars Mats Hummels, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Thomas Muller while he oversees Holland’s World Cup campaign. The incoming United manager is now focused on Holland — but is expecting United to act decisively over the next few weeks, with the club also closing in on Southampton left-back Luke Shaw. All three moves are fraught with problems, with Borussia Dortmund unwilling to sell Hummels, while Muller, who also interests Barcelona, and Schweinsteiger will be difficult to prise from Bayern Munich due to their long contracts. The total spend on the Germans is likely to top £100million. Please Like/Join Manchester United - The Red Devils for more
