Mandi Bahauddin: What to talk of schools in rural area even Government Post Graduate College Mandi Bahauddin is missing physical facilities and actual needs of the institution. During a visit to the college and informal talk with the teaching staff and the students this scribe learnt that the college had problem such as acute shortage of furniture, lack of computer lab, lack of science and computer teachers, lack of IT facilities. Total number of students studying in the college is 3600 and there is shortage of 600 chairs. Similarly building and class rooms are inadequate to accommodate all students. There is only one play ground and that is not enough for students for playing and other extracurricular activities. In Post Graduate portion of the college science classes have not been started due to non availability of lab and science teachers. The students desiring to get Master degree in sciences had to move to Lahore. Social circles have urged Punjab Government to take notice of problems being faced by the college and allocate funds as a special case to complete deficiency of required facilities and teaching staff. They also suggested that adjacent railway land be given to the college for constructing play ground either on lease or transferred to Punjab Government. Sher Gondal
