This is may sound sound self absorbed, but just for today Id like to observe this day in my life 1 year ago today, the darkest hole Ive ever been in. I attempted suicide last year on this very day. After hospitalization, the same day I was released attempted once more. So much has happened since then. Plain and simple..... My family back, my friends old and have met great new ones!! A stable roof over my head, a car been paying off, legal driving renewed drivers licensce, health, dental and vision. Checking and savings acct. From here on out all off the abuse I endured as a child is a thing of the past. Im a survivor not a victim. The aforementioned thing kept me high and wasted every day for 22 years. For today I can thank all of you for being Im my life. For the 1st time in my life I have self control and can say Im proud of myself for the determination! Is life perfect? Nope. But just for today it is. Will tomorrow be the same ? Dont know. All that I can do to keep this way of life is meditate and pray Ill get through another 1 clean and sober. Thank you dad, grandpa and uncle hank Hank Goldsmith. Your spiritual guidance is something I hold near and dear to my heart.
