Manga review: Naruto chapter 693 The title for the latest Naruto chapter is Once Again. The title gives off the idea of expect loads of flashbacks from the previous series which is actually true. The chapter begins with Naruto asking Sasuke to release the tailed beasts since they just got their freedom and they have nothing to do with their fight. Sasuke disagrees and answers that he is still gonna push his revolution plan and kill all the beasts including Naruto, who has acquired of all the beasts powers. Sakura and Kakashi try their best to put some sense into Sasuke but failed. Here are some of the main key points of the chapter: 1. Sakuras heart felt confession, Shippuuden version. 2. Kakashi makes Sasuke realize that he is someone worth loving and that he should learn to love himself and the people around him. 3. The sage discuss the mistakes he has done in the past and hopes that it wont happen again in the present time. 4. All of them put their hopes on Naruto. 5. Sasuke will explain to Naruto his definition of Hokage, one that is different from his brother. My thoughts: 1. I loved how this chapter brought back some of the memorable happenings in the previous series, cause it kinda gives off that nostalgic feeling. We all remember that before Sasuke and Naruto fought in the previous series, Sakura confessed to Sasuke. In this chapter, before Sasuke and Naruto head to the Valley of the End, Sakura again confessed to Sasuke, but this time it was much more heartbreaking than in the previous series because it contained all of Sakuras feelings for Sasuke from 3 years ago. Then Sasuke gave the same response he told Sakura 3 years ago which was Youre still annoying. Then Sasuke puts Sakura to sleep by placing her under genjutsu (again like in the first series). For me, Sasukes youre annoying statement has become a symbolic part in both Sasuke and Sakuras lives, because it reminds both of them that everything, their (Sasuke and Sakura) love story started with that statement. 2. Kakashi tells Sasuke that Sakura loved him until her heart broke. Sakura still harbored the same feelings for him despite his changed nature and that she was willing to stay by his side no matter what. Sasuke answers, saying that he doesnt understand what she sees in him and that he was never interested in her or in falling in love. Now, Im not saying this because Im a huge SasuSaku fan but I think Sasuke is still hiding his true feelings for Sakura. I think what Sasuke was implying with the I dont know what she sees in me bit is that he doesnt understand, after everything he has done, to Sakura and Naruto, Sakura still loves him. Its like, I have a miserable past, I was never nice to you, I left you and almost tried to kill you but STILL youre in love with me. Why? But he cant let anyone in yet because for him loving people too much can bring a great pain. I hope that Sasukes ideals change and that he learns to open his heart again. Its obvious that no one will die since both Sasuke and Naruto will make it to the Last Naruto Shippuden movie. Cant wait to read the next chapter and watch the movie.
