Mangroves play a vital role in coastal areas, acting as a natural - TopicsExpress

Mangroves play a vital role in coastal areas, acting as a natural barrier, they absorb carbon emissions and are home to a large variety of fish and animal species. Many shark species rely on the mangroves as their nursery, where they live until they are big enough to venture out to survive on the reefs and in the open ocean. Volunteers on our project will be calculating the carbon footprint of their flight to Fiji and planting mangroves to offset their impact, thus ensuring our shark nurseries survival. This video is shot in the neighboring Tuvalu Islands.
