Manitowoc Indigo ice machines to be produced in Monterrey, MX MANITOWOC, Wis. – March 10, 2014 – Manitowoc Foodservice announced today to their IAM leadership its intention to transfer assembly of its Indigo line of ice machines from its facility in Manitowoc, Wisconsin to the company’s multi-purpose facility in Monterrey, Mexico. This transfer, which will take place over the next two years, may impact approximately 150 production team members by the end of the transition in 2016. The intended transfer of assembly for Indigo supports the Foodservice manufacturing strategy that includes capitalizing on emerging market growth. It also reflects the need to remain competitive by meeting customer requests to manufacture products close to their expanding geographic footprint. The facility in Monterrey will enable The Manitowoc Company to more effectively serve customers in Latin America, and is also a good location to serve our U.S. customers.
