“Mans greatness consists in his ability to do and the proper application of his powers to things needed to be done.” - Frederick Douglass Daily Nugget of Gold 1231 A Simple Difference This isnt a talk about physics, even though- at first- it may seem like one. Bear with us for a moment, as we talk about two different areas of study in relation to physics. One of the two were alluding to is “theoretical physics” and the other is “applied physics”. People who are engaged in the former are trying to understand why things happen the way that they do, and why things have the properties they have. People involved in the latter are finding ways of using the knowledge weve gained in physics for practical purposes. In both branches of study, the people holding these jobs are “physicists”. One is the study of “what is” and the other is the study of what to do with “what is”, sort of. At least this is how your author sees it. What the heck- he might be wrong about it, but thats what were running with today. So how does the above paragraph relate to The Law of Attraction and success in general? Most of us who have invested at least some time into trying to understand how The Law of Attraction works admire its simplicity.. We watch videos and read books trying to understand it and how it works. We are like the “theoretical physicists” above. Others are more focused on practicing various ways to have the law work in our favor in our lives. Those of us who do that are more like the people who study “applied physics”. We are trying to get what we know to do something useful. Dont get us wrong- we would benefit greatly from knowing a great deal about how The Law of Attraction works, and we really want to spend at least some time trying to understand the ins and outs of it all. That being said, the payoff isnt there. Knowing all about how it works will do little for us unless we develop practical ways of using what we know in order to get what we want to get. For example, knowing that we can control our emotional response to the ups and downs of life is nice, finding ways of doing that on a day to day basis as we get confronted with things to feel one way or another about is a different thing entirely. We might know that being in a “happy positive state of mind” is best, but until we achieve that more and more that knowledge is fairly useless. As we go through life lets look to finding ways to use the knowledge weve gained in this subject. Otherwise, we are really fooling ourselves as to whether or not it will do us any good, arent we? What do you think about this, do you agree?
