Many Hands International is thrilled to announce that the State Secretary of Art and Culture, Timor-Leste, will inaugurate the Lautem Cultural Centre on 1 May 2014. This long-term project (known as the Lospalos Centre for Traditional and Contemporary Arts and Culture), is a partnership between Many Hands International and the Government of Timor-Leste. The inauguration marks the completion of Stage One in the development of the Centres infrastructure. It also marks the commencement of a new phase in arts and culture programming by the Government of Timor-Leste for the people of the Lautem district and beyond. Stage One of building development has seen the former marketplace in Lospalos transformed into an attractive open-air and multi-staged performing arts space, replete with change rooms, ticket box and cafe. Infrastructure adjacent to the marketplace has been renovated into a dance studio, art gallery, music studio and office. Come and see the transformations, join in the celebrations and get a taste of the future with music, dance, art, workshops and activities for all generations.
