Many a hand has scaled the grand old face of the plateau 許多人用雙手造就了偉大的高原 Some belong to strangers and some to folks you know 有些人你不認識有些你認識 Holy ghosts and talk show hosts are planted in the sand 聖靈和訪談主持人被種在沙子裡 To beautify the foothills and shake the many hands 用他們來美化小丘陵 The nothing on the top but a bucket and a mop 丘頂除了桶子和拖把什麼都沒有 And an illustrated book about birds 還有一本鳥類說明書 You see a lot up there but don’t be scared 你在那兒能看到不少東西但別害怕 Who needs action when you got words 聽到一聲令下，你知道誰該行動了 When you’ve finished with the mop then you can stop 當你用拖把幹完了活，就可以停下了 And look at what you’ve done 看看你幹了些什麼 The plateau’s clean, no dirt to be seen 高原被打掃的乾乾淨淨一塵不染 And the work it took was fun 幹這活樂子也挺多 Well the many hands began to scan around for the next plateau 好了，人們又開始找下一個平原 Some said it was in Greenland and some in Mexico 有些說下一個是格凌蘭也有人說是墨西哥 Some decided it was nowhere except for where they stood 有些人認定它就在腳下 But they were all just guesses, wouldn’t help you if they could 但他們都是瞎猜，什麼忙也幫不上你
