Many are asking why is certification necessary in makeup artist assistant post? For starters when you are trained, you should learn the basics of sanitary and beauty standards, I sign very detailed contracts with clients and I will be held liable if these standards are not upheld and God forbid there are are reactions or infections. How many MUAs practice working from a mixing palette by scooping cream products with a spatula. How many know that you need to sanitize your brushes in between clients due to the bacteria and other things living on peoples skin? How many know about colour theory, correction? How to balance the face with using specific highlights and low lights techniques for each face shape? So you see when I ask for a specific thing such as certification...I need someone who knows these basic things so all you will be probably learn is makeup technique while working with me. I could go on and on about basic things someone with a cert will know. I just need someone with a cert no hard feelings :D
