Many have lost the joy, glow and reality of God’s abundant life - TopicsExpress

Many have lost the joy, glow and reality of God’s abundant life due to frenzy and lack of patience. Children are impatient. They are also very self-centered. This is because the root of impatience is selfishness. I want what I want, and I want it now. We try to force our own plans on God, who becomes more of a delivery boy for our flesh than the Almighty One. But God is not affected by our impatience. We need to repent, not God. Many times we have missed God’s best because of our impatience. Selfishly rushing about and comparing ourselves with others, we bustle into something that never was God’s plan. He had thought of something similar, only better, to take place some time in the future, with different and better contacts. Therefore, patience is a great strength. It is the ability to wait and to remain calm as the years go by. It is the ability to remain focused and to rest assured that, even though days, weeks, months and years pass, the earth eventually will yield its harvest. The Bible does not contain technical parables. Life is not like a Coca Cola machine that spits out a bottle when we push a button. Life involves constant growth. Life is sowing and reaping. And in between sowing and reaping comes patience. Because if we do not grow weary, we will reap in due time.
