A variety of physical shapes and ethnic backgrounds and a wide range of specialist skills would be hugely advantageous. All are to play portable musical instruments that are not percussion based. Immediately Still Seeking: [MR. DARLING/CAPTAIN HOOK] Male, 40’s to 50’s. Mr. Darling is a well intentioned but ultimately egotistical man who tries to do the best for his family. Captain Hook is the leader of a rotten bunch of pirates. Crazed, cunning, and flamboyant, he is insanely jealous of Peters youth and ease. A commanding stage presence is required as well as outstanding physical fitness, agility, sword-play and movement skills. Outstanding comic ability to deliver wit and panache is also essential. Perfect English dialect. Principal Role. [GENTLEMAN STARKEY] Male, 40’s. Pirate. Sees himself as a cut above the other pirates and the natural successor to Hook. Always in charge when Hook isn’t around but immediately lowers status when Hook appears. Carries himself with an air of superiority. Will understudy Mr. Darling/Captain Hook. 6’0” or taller. Ensemble. [BILL JUKES/SKYLIGHTS] Male, mid 20’s to 40’s. African American. Pirate. Excellent comic timing needed, as well as ability to produce two contrasting characters. Must have stage combat experience and have strong ability with a portable instrument (accordion or mandolin a plus). Should be able to carry a tune in a big, gruff singing voice. Acrobatic or circus skills a plus. Non-American dialect required (open to all ideas). Ensemble. [MULLINS/CECCO] Male. Pirate. Mullins is a dim, ragged recruit to Hook’s crew. Cecco is flamboyant and spirited in the Italian style, but still in awe and fear of Hook. The ability to be menacing is crucial. Must be excellent at stage combat and have strong ability with a portable instrument (fiddle or banjo a plus). Acrobatic or circus skills a plus. Ensemble. [COOKSON/PUPPETEER] Male. Pirate. Will also act as a puppeteer. Will understudy all other pirates. Stage combat experience required, with acrobatic or circus skills a plus. Must play a portable instrument and carry a tune in a big, gruff singing voice. British dialect and strong comedic skills required. Ensemble.
