Many of my Democratic and Progressive friends are shocked and saddened by the election results yesterday. People are talking about a turn to the right in our country and with the big republican wins it seems like that may be happening. I disagree with this. I think the democrats lost big because they were not progressive enough. Democrats have for years been promising progressive change and then delivering nothing. What ever happened to the Employee Choice act, Medicare for all HR 676, and prosecuting people for spying on Americans? In NY we are preparing for HydroFracking, giving $22 Billion in Corporate welfare, and have all but given up on campaign finance reform. These are not things the Republicans have done but actions of the Democrats! These same Democrats have alienated Hispanics and women by failing to pass the dream act and the womens agenda. Is it any wonder people failed to show up for the Democrats?
