Many of us come to the conclusion that our established institutions of government, finances, media, and corporate interests are… to one extent or another… corrupt. The more we look into it, the deeper the corruption seems to run, and if you really choose to go down some of the numerous rabbit holes that are out there you might come to some truly frightening conclusions. Did the CIA kill JFK? Are GMO foods changing our genetic structure? Was the government behind the 9/11 attacks? Were they behind the Sandy Hook massacre? What are they spraying in the air? What are they putting in the water? Is there a depopulation agenda going on here? Are they trying to set up a New World Order? And who is in control? The illuminati? The bankers? The Zionists? The Neo-cons? The reptilians? The Rothschilds? The Rockefellers? There are numerous “conspiracy theories” out there, and in terms of validity they range from probable to plausible to unlikely to flat out outlandish… but they all have one thing in common… they are speculative. They are open to debate. And just as there is likely no one alive who completely understands the complexities of the financial system, there is likely no one alive that fully understands the depths of corruption within the established institutions of power. So going down endless rabbit holes in an attempt to make sense out of a crazy world is unlikely to establish positive results… There is another reason why it may be wise for an activist to avoid speculative arguments in the quest for social change… and that is that there are more than enough indisputable atrocities to go around. Why engage in speculation that may cause people to be dismissive when you can lay out proven indisputable and thoroughly damning facts. For instance maybe an individual “knows” that the government was behind the 9/11 attacks… however, when he presents his case, many people will dismiss everything he says simply because he is a “crazy conspiracy theorist”… but practically everyone knows that the Bush Administration decidedly issued hundreds of falsified documents in order to go to war in Iraq. And this can be easily verified. Almost 3,000 people were killed on 9/11. And maybe what we are told about 9/11 is a lie. Hundreds of thousands of people were killed in the latest Iraq war. This includes 4,000 Americans, 40,000 Iraqi troops, and HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF CIVILIANS… the Iraq war was provably and indisputably based on lies. Other examples of indisputable atrocities would include the governments use of torture, white phosphorous and depleted uranium, extra-judicial assassinations and suspension of due process, indefinite detention, the largest prison population per capita on earth, a massive surveillance state, human experimentation with syphilis, LSD and more, conspiracy to attack civilian populations (Operation Northwoods), and many, many more… Some people may not be aware of some of these atrocities, and some may not initially believe some of them, but they have been proven. And they are easily verified. Furthermore, when you make a case based on provable injustices, people will be much less dismissive of your claims. Besides, why would it be necessary to speculate on what the established institutions of power might have done when the atrocities that we KNOW they have done are plenty bad enough… Al-Capone was thug. He was probably guilty of murder, extortion, and many more horrific crimes. However, in a court of law, he was convicted of tax evasion… This sent him to prison, and that is where he died. The point is that when building a solid case against the established institutions of power, it is important to be factual… This is not saying that many of the speculative arguments are not correct… nor is it saying they are wrong. The point is that when you engage in speculation, many will disagree. Going back to the recognition of corruption… Typically when we look at the problems of the world, we try to rationalize with ourselves as to how we got to this point and where we should go from here. This is often how we derive our worldviews, and our worldviews are based on our beliefs and our values. We then go about trying to promote our ideological worldviews with the hope of convincing enough people to agree with them such that a tangible difference can be made. But we are missing a huge point. And that is the incredible diversity of the people with respect to beliefs and values, in addition to the fact that these beliefs and values have been heavily reinforced… usually for years. It is a daunting task to change ONE persons worldview… let alone a majorities… Usually, worldviews come attached with idealistic alternative solutions to the established institutions of power, and many of these solutions are viable, and preferable to the way things are… The problem with these proposed viable alternative solutions is that they conflict with each other. And due to the large amount of proposed alternative solutions, along with the incredible ideological diversity within society, the odds that any one viable alternative solution will gather a majority consensus is negligible. It is approximately zero. So what do we need? A new superior solution? One that applies to everyone? Absolutely not… Can you come up with a better idealistic solution than a resource-based economic model that applies the scientific method towards social concern… Are you really going to top a RBE? With it’s brilliant advocates, and it’s thousands of pages of well researched supporting data? Can you top that? Can you come up with a better idealistic solution than a voluntary society? With an absolute respect for individual liberty, and it’s thousands of brilliant advocates and it’s thousands of incredibly well researched pages on Austrian theory? Can you come up with a better solution than a democratic socialist society? With democratic control over environmental regulations, social justice, and social equality? With it’s thousands of brilliant advocates and thousands of incredibly well researched documents? Can you? If there is anything we DO NOT NEED it is a new alternative solution, no matter how viable it is… Because due to our ideological diversity, any new proposed solution will only serve to further divide us. And if there is anything we do not need, it is more social division. This is not to dismiss any ideology. It is not a knock on libertarianism, science, socialism, or anything else… it is simply recognizing that human beliefs and values are diverse. They are not scientific, socialistic, individualistic, or anything else. They very from person to person, and there is no single idealistic political solution that will EVER apply to everyone… no matter how socially just, how spiritually enlightened, how economically efficient, or how scientifically sound… we are to diverse. So how do we fight back against corruption once we come to terms with our diversity? Simple… we search for those few values that have massive overlapping between the different ideologies, and we identify where those values are being violated… This brings us back to those indisputable atrocities. For no matter where you lie on the political spectrum, it is very likely that you believe that genocide is wrong. And so when genocide occurs, it becomes possible for a diverse group of people to unite in opposition to genocide. The key to success is to not propose any alternative solution… and is the government guilty of genocide? Yes. So… If you truly want to progress society you will… STOP proposing solutions STOP striving for your idealistic world And start UNITING with people Not for a cause Not for an ideology Not for a solution But rather… AGAINST any individual Or group of individuals Or any institution That has ever oppressed Or has sought to oppress Or seeks to oppress ANYONE This is how we get on the same page. And it requires embracing the uncertainty of what will follow a united majority that stands in opposition to the established institutions of power while not proposing any alternative solutions. But you were never going to achieve your ideal world, and besides… the future has always been uncertain anyway… But I am convinced… This is likely the most effective way to truly fight back against an oppressive and thoroughly corrupt system. PEACE!
