Many of us with children celebrated Halloween last night, but do - TopicsExpress

Many of us with children celebrated Halloween last night, but do we know why? One boy who came to our little party had done some research. This is what he told us: The word Halloween is a shortening of All Hallows, and has its origins in an ancient Celtic festival which celebrated the end of the harvest. The ancient Gaels believed that on October 31, the boundaries between the worlds of the living and dead overlapped, and the dead could come back and cause sickness or damage crops. Masks and costumes were worn to drive off the evil spirits. Please feel free to add anything else. It’s interesting.
