Many of you are asking about the sirens going off this evening. According to Winnebago County, they were sounded due to a report of a funnel cloud. However, that funnel did not touch down, therefore no warning was issued. There have been several reports of funnel clouds this evening across the Stateline, however, the threat for them to reach the ground is minimal as conditions are not prime for that to happen. Therefore, the risk for damage is also minimal. If you do see a funnel cloud though, it still may be best to err on the side of caution and seek shelter.
