Many of you are aware of the events in Ferguson. In times like these, art created by those who are oppressed and hurting becomes some of the most beautiful and the most powerful. Educate yourselves on the representation of race in the media; use your voice to advocate for the young boys and girls of color who face daily the dehumanizing effects of racism, in the media, in pop culture, and in their daily lives. Listen to their words. Support authors and artists and actors and actresses and musicians who use their experiences to create art. Educate yourselves on how to be allies for these girls and boys, men and women. Jack has made it a priority to feature people of color as protagonists in his comics so that people of color see representation in comic books.
