Many of you have been face book friends of mine for a long time, but some dont know the background of my children. Harley wanting to be on student council at school is HUGE.. He is my son by adoption. He was severely beaten by his birth sperm donor before the age of 5. He was removed from the home at age 5. He had extreme anger issues and was mad at the world. He was in kindergarten for two years due to behaviors not allowing him to learn. When he came to live with us he was entering the 1st grade and could not read any words. He had frequent meltdowns due to various things. He has done so well. Last year he ended the third grade reading 3rd grade, 5th month. When we go someplace he takes a book to read. I was so excited and nervous for him when he came home and wanted my help writing a letter stating why he wants to be on student council and why he would be a good role model. 6 months ago he would not even get up on stage for church with the other kids at school. He is such a great young man who has overcome so much in his young life. I am so proud to be his Mom and to call him my son.
