Many of you know I teach a class about personal safety, internet safety, scams, and bogus mail. These are the true versions of the stuff that is being passed around right now: -You cannot put your PIN in backwards at the bank to call the police. -You cannot dial any * number to call the police if you think a fake cop is pulling you over. (Dial 911) -There are not needles under gas pumps. -Gangs do not have a hit out on people that flash them when they have their bright lights on. -When you see an Amber Alert look it up to make sure it is an Amber alert. Many of these are bogus. -No company gives $1 for each share or forwarding of a sick childs picture. (There is no way to track shares or how many times an email has been forwarded) -Bill gates is not giving his money away. -Walmart is not stealing money when you use your debit card. There is NO way for a cashier to key in an amount of cash back on his/her cashier station. It has to be done on the credit card pad. -Obama is not being impeached. -Will Smith is not dead -Adam Sandler is alive and well. -The is not a killer worm roaming around trying to kill your kids. -The Salvation Army did not say all gays should be put to death. -There is not an international kill a pit bull day. -Facebook is not selling your private information. You can put up all of the legal disclosures you want and things will still stay the same! -Facebook is not going to charge you for your account.
