Many of you may not know some of this history and some of these coincidences but........ Yannick is a Canadian superstar. And he is Detective Murdoch, the bicycling detective, which is exactly how Maureen wrote the character. Yannick got the part to play Maureens detective when the show was recast after the movies of the week. Murdoch in Maureens books has dark brown eyes and brown hair, and he loves to ride his bike. Little did we know when that first novel was published, 10 years later, the actor who was to play Murdoch in the current series would have those same characteristics. Yannick is an avid mountain cyclist. Perfect for Murdoch.
